About The Instructor
Dr. Rachil Koumproglou, founder of AgroSynapsis, is a Molecular Breeding Consultant and Educator. She began her career as a Plant Geneticist during her PhD at the University of Birmingham (UK) and went on to work across public and private sectors, combining academic knowledge with practical experience.
Throughout her career, she has closely collaborated with breeders, supporting their adoption of molecular tools and deeper understanding of plant genomics. She has led training sessions and workshops, translating complex scientific ideas into engaging narratives. Today, she is the lead instructor for the UC Davis Plant Breeding Academy’s Introductory Course in Molecular Markers, offered worldwide

Words From Our Course Participants
The course offered a clear and practical overview of how marker-assisted selection supports decision-making in breeding programs

The hands-on training was particularly effective, making it easier to translate knowledge directly into practical breeding and research workflows -something that is often missing in many learning platforms.
Dr. Varsha Singh
Associate Research Scientist, Corteva
India (via LinkedIn)
I found this course highly practical and easy to apply. It clearly explained how to transition from published QTL/marker information to a validated, decision-ready marker set, with a strong emphasis on phenotyping quality and marker validation.
